    Beta students have been working diligently cataloging books in the library, moving furniture around, and dusting. These students have been a great help. We are looking forward to a great year in the library and without the help of these students the library would not be ready for the up coming school year! Thank you Beta for giving your time!

  • Kindergarten-Third Grade

    1st Week

    Objectives:

    Students will learn how to behave appropriately in the library.
    Students will learn how to care for books.
    Students will learn the correct names of computer parts.

    Activities:

    We will practice rituals and routines in the library. We will discuss library behavior with a Smart Notebook lesson called k-2 Library Behaviors.

    We will read Forest Friends go to School by Kathryn Warner. We will learn how to care for books...with an emphasis on what NOT to do. We will watch Don't Let the Pigeon Touch the Books and we will chart good and bad choices for caring for books.

    The students will color "I visited the library today". 

    K5 and 1st will practice mouse skills at this site: http://www.ziggityzoom.com/games/feed-monster

    2nd and 3rd will learn the names of computer parts and play a computer parts game. Use SMart Notebook lesson Computer Parts (Kindergarten).

     

    2nd Week

    Objectives:

    Students will learn to behave appropriately in the library.
    Students will review and practice caring for books.
    Students will review computer parts.
