Delta Charter School
2023-2024 Reopening Plan

The safety and wellbeing of the students and employees of Delta Charter School are the main priority of the Board of Directors. Research has shown that students learn best when they are able to attend school in-person. Therefore, Delta Charter School will offer 100% in-person learning for the 2023-2024 school year. Virtual learning will not be offered and the topic will only be readdressed if a mandate is put in place by the governor. Any parent who has questions or would like additional information may contact the Director.

Delta Charter School has taken the following steps to ensure that its students and employees are able to return to 100% in-person learning for the 2023-2024 school year:

● Thorough cleaning of all bathrooms, classrooms and other common areas
● New exterior windows and doors were installed to ensure proper air quality
● Bathrooms were upgraded to include automatic flush toilets, automatic sinks, etc.
● Display reminder signs in restrooms about proper hand washing
● Display behavior expectation matrixes in classrooms, bathrooms and other locations around school
● Have designated pick-up and drop-off procedures for specific grade levels
● Visitors are limited on campus and appointments are recommended
● Nurses office can be used as holding area for any individual who displays symptoms, if needed

Vaccinations:

The Delta Charter School Board of Directors is not requiring employees or students to take the Covid-19 vaccination at this time.

Covid-19 Policies and Procedures for Students

1. Will my child be required to wear a face mask indoors at all times while at school?
As of September 1, 2021 the mask mandate was lifted. Masks will be optional for the 2022-2023 school year. Any student or employee who chooses to wear a mask may do so, but a mask will not be required. This will only be revisited if the governor issues additional mandates.

If so, how long will he/she be required to quarantine? A specific number of day quarantine will not be required for students who test positive. Students should remain home as long as they are displaying symptoms. Once the student has been symptom free for 24 hours, he/she may return to school. A doctor’s note to return to school should be sent to the nurse.

If you were exposed to COVID-19, you do not need to quarantine unless you develop symptoms.

5. What happens if my child develops COVID-19 symptoms while at school?
Any student who displays symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent to the school nurse to be evaluated. The nurse will contact the parent to come pick his/her child up if needed. The student may return to school with a negative test result or a doctor’s note indicating an alternate diagnosis.
